Known as one of the highest-ranking women in Hispanic media, Jacqueline Hernández has risen to become the Chief Marketing Officer of Telemundo and is focused on “closing the gap between the Hispanic and general market.”
The multimedia businesswoman and pioneer Jacqueline Hernández was born on January 10, 1966, in New York, New York. Hernández was raised in Manhattan and ultimately graduated from Birch Wathen Lenox School a year ahead of schedule. After high school, Hernández attended Tufts University where she graduated with a B.A. in English and Art History. She then went on to attend Bernard M. Baruch Collge of the City University of New York where she received an M.B.A. in marketing.
Hernández's early stages of her career range from working in print at the Boston Globe to tackling advertising at the Village Voice — but the media maven really began to stretch her wings when she landed the role of running international marketing for TIME Magazine.
Her accolades include recognition within the media, entertainment and marketing industries. Hernández was included in The Hollywood Reporter's 2013 Women in Entertainment Power 100, Advertising Age's 2012 100 Most Influential Women in Advertising and CableFAX: The 100 Power Players to name a few.
Aside from Hernández's prestige, she has also broken down barriers for women in the media industry. Hernández is currently the high-ranking woman in both Spanish-language TV and print publishing, having served as Telemundo's Chief Operating Officer in 2008 and currently the Chief Marketing Officer of NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises.
